Strength at your own pace, at every stage

We train women of all ages who want to get stronger, feel better and look after their long-term health. For years women were told to do gentle exercise and lots of cardio; we work on strength, because it is what helps most at any age.

It is not about lifting heavy on day one, but about progressing with good technique: squats, deadlifts, lunges, pushes and pulls, with your own body weight, bands, dumbbells or a barbell depending on your level.

And something many of our clients tell us: they feel more confident, in training and outside it.

How we train with you

  • 1-to-1 at our studio in Sants, with one or two sessions a week.
  • In a small group of no more than 8 people, in morning and evening slots.
  • Online, with your programme in the app if you cannot come in.

Exercise in pregnancy, postpartum and menopause

These are three stages in which well-adapted strength training makes a difference. In pregnancy it helps you reach labour stronger and with fewer aches; postpartum it safely restores your core and pelvic floor; and in menopause it protects your bones, your metabolism and your mood. Always with your doctor’s approval and with specific progressions.

Starting with no experience

Many of our clients had never done strength training and were afraid they would not be up to it. We start with the basics, at your pace, and within a few weeks you notice it.

Strength training for women FAQ

Can I do strength training while pregnant?

Yes, with your doctor’s approval and with adaptations. We have specific training in physical activity during pregnancy and postpartum, and we train pregnant women both 1-to-1 and in small groups.

When can I get back to training after giving birth?

When your doctor or your pelvic floor physiotherapist gives you the all-clear. We start with breathing, pelvic floor and core, and increase the load progressively.

Will strength training make me «bulky»?

No. Gaining very visible muscle mass takes years and a specific diet. What you’ll notice first is more strength, better posture and more energy.

Does it help during menopause?

That’s when it makes the most sense: strength training protects bone density, maintains your metabolism and improves mood and sleep. You’ll find more information in our article on preventing osteoporosis after menopause.

In a group or 1-to-1?

Both options. The small group of up to 8 people is a good way to start with company; 1-to-1 lets you work on something specific. And if you can’t come to Sants, online with the app.
